The Rural Municipality of Easter Kings has contracted UPLAND Planning + Design Studio to review and update the Eastern Kings Official Plan and the accompanying Development Bylaws. UPLAND Planning + Design Studio will be working closely with the Municipality and the community to explore and develop strategies to address key land use themes such as:

• Sustainable development

• The environment

• Housing

• Agriculture and fishing

• Commercial and industrial lands

• And many others

What We Heard Report

The What We Heard Report summarizes input collected throughout the initial community engagement phase for the Plan Review. The engagement results and the discussion will guide the development of the draft documents.

Background Report

The Background Report lays the foundation for the updated Official Plan and the Development Bylaws by exploring some of the fundamental characteristics of Eastern Kings. It explores the environment; socio-economic characteristics including demographics and population trends; housing supply; the local economy; and built form and heritage. 

What will inform this project?

The Eastern Kings Official Plan Review will begin with community and stakeholder consultation to understand your ideas for the future of land use planning in the Municipality. That input, combined with a review of the current planning documents, will build the foundation from which we can create relevant and supportive land use policy for the future.
